The Pitch Quantizer is a Composition-level element that constrains all notes Mass produces. With the controls described below, you can ensure any MIDI note coming from any Event will be limited to a specific key and octave range.
Note: Mass considers C4 to be "middle C". As per MIDI convention, middle C is still MIDI note number 60.
For details about how Part positions are translated into MIDI note numbers, see Event Type - Note.
For details about how Transpositions can affect the quantization while playing, see Event Type - Transpose.
Sets the root note for the quantization. Both the lowest and highest notes that your Composition can play will always be the root, although the octave is configurable (see Parameter - Range).
Sets the scale that all notes are picked from. When combined with the Root control, this forms the key for your Composition.
Sets the range of octaves that notes will be picked from. Because MIDI note number octaves generally relate to C, the octave numbers themselves can be misleading. For this reason, Mass will display the range in the form of lowest possible note <-> highest possible note
.
Note: this is a compound control. Holding and dragging from the center of the fader handle will adjust the octave range up or down. Holding and dragging from the left edge of the handle will increase the available range while lowering the low end of the range. Likewise, holding and dragging from the right edge of the handle will increase the available range while increasing the upper end of the range.
