Compositions that you've created are by default synced to iCloud for use on other devices and between the standalone and AUv3 versions of the app. This also means they can be managed in the Files app, within your iCloud Drive data. The Composition Browser is the in-app management tool.
The current Composition name is always displayed at the top of the browser. If you haven't created a Composition yet, or are working with an unsaved Composition, the title will display the default "Untitled Composition" shown above.
When first opening the browser, or when navigating back later, you will see two primary options:
The current working directory is always displayed in the navigation header. Any Composition you save will be saved in this directory.
Note that in the standalone version of Mass this is tracked across sessions, while in the AUv3 version it will reset for each plugin instance loaded. This behavior is intended to prevent issues when running multiple instances of Mass in a hosted environment. Depending on the host, each plugin instance may remember its own working directory value for the duration of your session.
Tap the folder icon on the right-hand side of the navigation bar to create a new directory. The newly-created directory will be placed inside the current working directory, and the working directory will be updated.
Any directory may contain a combination of Compositions and other directories. These are separated visually into two groups, with the directories group displaying on top.
The Save, Save As, and Reset options are only available when there is at least one Part in the scene.
If you are working with an untitled Composition, you will always be asked to enter a new name for the Composition. After initially naming the Composition, you can change the name with the Save As option.
Resetting a Composition will remove all Parts, and return all Composition-level settings to their defaults. Note that this only affects settings contained with the Composition and its contained Parts, and will not reset your clock source, transport source, or MIDI routing settings.
